JFK Tribute Public Meeting

Due to weather conditions, the public meeting for the JFK Tribute and Improvements to General Worth Square scheduled for Wednesday, February 2nd at 5:30 pm at the Hilton Fort Worth Hotel in downtown Fort Worth has been cancelled.  It will be rescheduled shortly.

DOWNTOWN FORT WORTH INITIATIVES, INC. ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR HISTORIC JOHN F. KENNEDY TRIBUTE IN GENERAL WORTH SQUARE

FORT WORTH, TX – The JFK Tribute Committee of Downtown Fort Worth Initiatives, Inc. (DFWII) is proud to announce the unveiling – for the very first time to the general public – of the plans for the JFK Tribute in downtown’s General Worth Square.

“A tribute to the president’s visit and memorializing the history of the first half of November 22, 1963 has been too long in coming,” said Taylor Gandy, . “The JFK Tribute Committee, Shirlee and I are excited about bringing this part of Fort Worth’s history from the shadows and creating a beautiful and important addition to the downtown environment.”

“Taylor and I are proud to be a part of this historic effort. We look forward to increased momentum involving individuals, organizations and businesses from throughout our community as we work toward the construction and opening of the JFK Tribute in May, 2012,” said Shirlee Gandy, Tribute Committee Co-Chair.
